Principles of safety in Minimally Invasive Surgery


Period: 20.09.2021 - 22.09.2021

The workshop accredited by the Romanian College of Physicians with 18 EMC credits, is addressed to resident physicians and general surgery specialists, with little or medium experience in laparoscopic surgery.

During the 3 days, the attendants:
- will practice the manuality of the dominant hand and of the non-dominant hand, in order to safely manipulate the intra-abdominal tissues, during dissection, sutures, performing mechanical anastomoses, etc.;
- will acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for a safe approach of the peritoneal cavity;
- will acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for a safe use of the electrosurgical instruments;
- will acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for performing intracorporeal sutures and nodes;
- will acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for a correct use of the mechanical staplers;
- will acquire knowledge about the accidents and incidents that may occur during the use of mechanical suturing, as well as about the best ways to resolve them.

The workshop includes theoretical lecture modules with video examples, immediately followed by practical exercises on the pelvitrainer and on functional tissues.

At the end of this event, you will be more confident in your possibilities and practical skills for the safe application of mechanical suturing techniques, both in classical surgery and in laparoscopic surgery, and you will be able to start using these techniques in your daily surgical practice
