This intensive hands-on workshop is designed for resident physicians and specialists in general surgery and gynecology interested in breast oncology, gynecologic surgery, and hepato-bilio-pancreatic surgery, who wish to integrate fluorescence-guided techniques (ICG) into their surgical practice.
Throughout the course, participants will:
- Understand the physical principles of fluorescence and its medical applications in assessing tissue perfusion.
- Learn how to interpret computer-processed images obtained after ICG injection to identify anatomical structures and evaluate their perfusion.
- Adapt surgical techniques based on intraoperative ICG imaging feedback.
- Acquire practical skills for the correct use of fluorescence visualization technology, in both open and minimally invasive surgery.
- Establish indications, contraindications, and customized injection protocols based on surgical pathology.
- Interpret lymphography and real-time perfusion imaging during surgery after ICG administration.
- Apply ICG-guided techniques in sentinel lymph node mapping and biopsy in oncologic and gynecologic procedures.
The program includes:
- Live surgery demonstrations
- Theoretical lectures and video presentations
- Case-based discussions with expert commentary
- Extensive hands-on training on pelvitrainer, POP-trainer, and functional tissue models
By the end of the event, participants will:
- Gain a clear understanding of ICG fluorescence principles and surgical applications.
- Be able to implement ICG-guided visualization protocols in daily clinical practice.
- Strengthen both their theoretical and practical knowledge to ensure safer, more precise, and individualized surgical procedures.
